The Capital City Steelers Youth Sports Association, Inc. (CCSYSA), proudly known as the Capital City Steelers, was founded in 1994. CCSYSA is an all-volunteer 501c-3 non-profit organization serving boys and girls from ages 5 to 15 from all around the Wake County area. Every year, CCSYSA supports about 200 youth football players and cheerleaders. Over the past decade, CCSYSA has accumulated many football and cheer titles including three (3) National Football titles. More importantly, many of our teams have been the recipients of Mid-South Regional Academic Excellence Awards, a Super Bowl Sportsmanship Award and we have placed boys and girls on the National Pop Warner Academic Team for many seasons.
As we prepare each year to start our season, we find ourselves with operating costs that continue to rise and we are constantly in need of assistance with adequate equipment. Each year we have equipment to purchase and/or have brought back up to new condition, this includes but is not limited to helmets, shoulder pads and uniforms for football and cheer. This season we are expecting to add 1-2 additional teams for our players. Our needs are immense and our funding is scarce. Football, as you well know, is a very physical sport, so protective equipment is essential to keeping our children safe. There are no short cuts in this area and please do not forget our great cheer program. Equipment seriously drains our limited budget.
Individual and Corporate sponsors are vital for CCSYSA success. We understand that you are constantly receiving requests for your support within the community and you have to really evaluate where your funds are better served and most needed. Community support goes both ways and we understand that.
